Week 6 Power Rankings: "Maybe Christmas, the Grinch thought, doesn't come from a store. " - Dr Seuss
On the twelfth day of Christmas Greasy Mitts teammates gave to me:
Twelve beers for drinking
Eleven reminders it’s time to leave
Ten-minute misconduct (Phil, Johnny, Tyler)
Nine facial stitches
Eight skaters per game
Seven goal leading scorers
Six shots of booze
Five teams in the league
Four skaters needed (who needs a sub)
Three stars of the game
Two turtle neck sweaters (Jason and Arnie)
And a cup for the winning team
Alright that was my failed attempt at coming up with a Christmas jingle for this holiday week. Now on to the power rankings and this week’s theme since there are no games is what should each team really have asked Santa for Christmas to help them move up the standings.
Blue team – Some fix a flat for Bobby’s busted wheel, glasses for Brando who likes to pass to the other team, shampoo for Matty’s beard, a new pinky and some courage for Mike, and some defense for Andy.
Green team – Some counseling to see who is the real leader of the team, a new HD web cam and high speed internet for Jake, a voice for Luke, a fire extinguisher for commish’s ego, an apology to the league for his gambling fix, and some oversized pads for Justin.
Black team – A new outfit from stitch fix for Jason and an apology to the league for his gambling fix, birth control for Sean, clutch gene for Brett as he just can't finish in the pick-em league or on the ice, a pass for Tyler, and a new go pro camera for Andy as he is playing out of his mind.
Yellow team – Some new gear for TJ (we get it, you played at St. Cloud), some Band-Aids for Johnny to pass out to his victims, rent money for Tommy, and a calendar for Dave so he knows when to show up, and some waterproof sheets for Ronnie.
Orange team – A new iron man tattoo for Alex, a box of donuts for Josh, wrist guards for Phil and Phil’s adversaries, some cash for Joe’s wedding tab, and a piece of plexi-glass to put behind Zach.
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a safe a Happy New Year to you all. We will see you next week.
